Recipes for a urbanized contemporary society. Life in town leaves us less time for a good meal. Do we eat what we need? Do we need what we eat? Is our diet sustainable? How can we make it healthier and handier? And eventually, how can design face the dramatic changes that food production and consumption have introduced in the last decades?

‘Food Makes the City’ deals with the culture of food design , to produce innovative ideas and express solutions able to bring social benefits and new, sustainable business opportunities.

The workshop encourages design students to analyse current issues and explore suggestions about food production, distribution, consumption and communication.

Moreover, students are asked to investigate on how design can change our habits about food, focusing ,beyond the traditional gastronomy, on the new formal, functional and communication concepts of our relationship with food.
